چکیده

Black liquor evaporation is generally the most energy intensive unit operation in a pulp and paper manufacturing facility. The black evaporators can represent third or more of total mill steam usage, followed by machine digester. Evaporator economy defined as mass required to evaporate water from (i.e., lb/lb kg/kg.) determined number effects an evaporator train system configuration. Older systems use four six effects, which are long tube vertical rising film type. Newer may be designed with seven even eight using falling forced circulation crystallization technology for high product solids. median age all North American 44 years. Roughly 25% current operating 54 years older. require periodic maintenance have higher risk unplanned downtime. Also, older chronic issues persistent vapor leaks, shell wall thinning, corrosion, plugged tubes. Often these worsen point requiring rebuild replacement. When considering age, technology, lower efficiency systems, major new warranted. intent this review state America present basic method determining whether installation warranted life cycle cost analysis (LCCA).

Simulation of flat falling film evaporator system for concentration of black liquor

In the present investigation, a nonlinear mathematical model is developed for the analysis of Septuple effect flat falling film evaporator (SEFFFE) system used for concentrating weak black liquor in a nearby paper mill. This model is capable of simulating process of evaporation considering variations in boiling point rise (), overall heat transfer coefficient (U), heat loss from evaporator (Ql...

Nuclear Plant Life Cycle Cost Analysis Considerations

There is an increasing awareness within the nuclear power industry of the need to perform detailed life cycle cost analyses (LCCA) to quantify the risks associated with investing in new equipment that is needed to improve plant capacity factors. In undertaking LCCA, there are three primary factors that need to be addressed: What are the considerations that go into performing life cycle cost ana...

REFRACTORIES FOR BLACK LIQUOR GASIFICATION

gasification (BBLG). One particularly harsh application is linings for gasifiers used in the treatment of black liquor (BL). Black liquor is a water solution of the non-cellulose portion of the wood (mainly lignin) and the spent pulping chemicals (Na2CO3, K2CO3, and Na2S). Development of new refractory materials for the black liquor gasification (BLG) application is a critical issue for imp...

Determination of Optimum Insulation Thickness for Building Walls in Iran Using Life Cycle Cost Analysis

Air-Conditioning (AC) systems are responsible for a considerable portion of the energy consumption in buildings located in high cooling load requiring regions of Iran. In addition, the heat flow through the buildingschr('39') external walls plays a major role in cooling load estimations for the countrychr('39')s hot regions. Therefore, application of insulation materials in external walls has g...
